Everybody has a strong friend. Almost nobody asks the strong friend how she is really doing.
If that is you, Lovey, you already know the strange loneliness of being the one who holds everyone up. You are the first call in a crisis and the last person anyone worries about. You have gotten so good at being fine that people stopped checking.
I know it because I was her. I wore my strength like armor, and the armor worked so well that no one saw the tired underneath. The problem with being the strong friend is not the strength. It is that you were never meant to carry your strength alone.
Here is the truth I want to hand you: needing support does not cancel your strength. It completes it. Even the strongest woman was designed to be poured into, not only to pour. God did not make you the endless well. He is the well. You are allowed to go to Him and be filled.
You can be strong and still be held. Those two things were always meant to live together.
If you are the strong friend nobody checks on, this is me checking on you. And this is your invitation to finally understand the way you carry.
